Question: Where is the grace of God?

Posted by tjcsg on February 1, 2012

There are more crimes and natural disaster happening around us. Sometimes we wonder where is the grace of God? Will there be justice? How is it that the righteous are suffering? Is there no deliverance for those who insist on following God’s Way and Truth?

Where is the grace of God?

The Lord’s second coming will come in due time. This is a great spiritual event with the descent of the wrath of Almighty God. It is also the time for judging the dead. All who fear the name of the Lord, His servants and prophets and disciples, will receive their reward.  (Rev 11:15-18).

Place your hope in His promise that can be found in the bible:

1. Grace of God for those who follow His Way and Truth.

The Lord promised, “I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (Jn 14:2-3).
The Lord will come to deliver us, for we (the church) are the promised virgin to the Lord (2 Cor 11:2). When the time is fulfilled, He will come (Rev 19:7).
The Spiritual church is His perfect one (Song 6:9). “I belong to my love, and my love belongs to me.”
When He comes again, we will be caught up with Him in the air (1 Thess 4:17).

2. Grace of God in delivering those who wait for Him.

Jesus Christ will come as the judge, unlike His first coming when he came as a saviour. His second coming is for the deliverance of those who believe and wait for Him. To those who do not believe, He is the Lord of Judgment.
On His second coming, the era of grace will end and the door will be closed. Many who want to enter will be kept out (Lk 13:24-25).
He will punish those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of Jesus. What will the end be for those who disobey the gospel? How will the sinful stand?

3. Grace of God in destroying all evil in the world.

This world is corrupted by evil and falls under the evil one. This was not God’s will in creation. Therefore, it must end in order that the new heaven and earth can be accomplished. The end is not reformation but destruction. When the Lord comes again, “The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.” (2 Pet 3:10).
Will Jesus come again to destroy the world just like in Noah’s days?   We may find answer in the great flood (Gen 6:12-13). The Lord said, “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.” (Lk 17:26-30).

The grace of God is with us. He did not hasten in His second coming so that man still have the chance to turn back to Him.

Jesus’ second coming signifies the end of the world. What bearing does it have on the world?  It will mark the end of the old world and the beginning of the new heaven and earth.  Every Christian who yearns to enter the new heaven and earth regards Jesus’ coming as their greatest hope (1 Pet 1:13).  Will Jesus come again to mark the end of you and I? That will depend on our faith and obedience to God’s words.

Question:Why Will Jesus Come Again?

Why Will Jesus Come Again?

The Lord’s second coming is a great spiritual event with the descent of the wrath of
Almighty God.

It is also the time for judging the dead. All who fear the name of the Lord, His servants and prophets and disciples, will receive their reward.

It will be the time when God will frustrate the corrupt world (Rev 11:15-18).

Below are some points for us to ponder:

1. Will Jesus come again to take the believers with Him?

Yes.

Yes.  Christ will come as the judge, unlike His first coming when he came as a saviour. His second coming is for the deliverance of those who believe and wait for Him. To those who do not believe,
He is the Lord of Judgment.
On His second coming, the era of grace will end and the door will be closed. Many who want to enter will be kept out (Lk 13:24-25).

3. Will Jesus come again to end the evil generation?

Yes.

Question: What will it be like when Jesus comes?

Posted by tjcsg on May 9, 2011

What will it be like when Jesus comes?

“The day should surprise you like a thief. Be alert.”  It means that the Lord will come at an unexpected hour, at the darkest hour of the world.
Some hold the view that the Lord’s coming should be invisible because He comes like a thief. This is a wrong perspective. His coming is for all to see.

When Jesus comes, all the people will mourn because of Him.

His majesty and glory are awesome. The universe will be overthrown. The dead who had believed will be raised imperishable and the living will be changed, together caught up with them in the clouds and meet Christ in the air (1 Cor 15:52; 1 Thess 4:16-17).

The following is a scene of what the Lord’s coming is like.

  1. When the Lord comes with His angels, He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory (Mt 25:31; 16:27; Jude 14)
  2. He will be revealed from heaven in blazing fire (2 Thess 1:7), coming on the clouds of the day (Mt 24:30)
  3. With a loud command, with the trumpet call of God (1 Thess 4;16; 1 Cor 15:52). With a loud trumpet call He will gather His elect from the four winds (Mt 24:31; Mk 13:27)
  4. With the breath of His mouth the Lord will overthrow the lawless one and destroy him by the splendour of His coming (2 Thess 2:8)
  5. All who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out (Jn 5:28); the sea and death and Hades will give up the dead for judgment (Rev 20:13)

How should we prepare before Jesus comes?

While in the world, the Lord repeatedly instructed His disciples to be alert and keep watch.
We should grasp the opportunity to believe in the Lord and prepare ourselves so that we may be confident and unashamed at His coming (1 Jn 2:28); overjoyed (1 Pet 4:13) in His presence (1 Thess 2:19); brought safely into His heavenly kingdom (2 Tim 4:18).

The following is a list of our preparations:

  1. Remain alert and prepare oil (Mt 25:1-10): the oil is the Holy Spirit, the source of light and strength
  2. Cleanse our clothes (Rev 22:12; 16:15): it refers to righteousness (Mt 22:11-13)
  3. Serve with faithfulness (Mt 24:45-46): God’s servants should serve the Lord faithfully, not seeking worldly fame and gain
  4. Abandon darkness for the light (Rom 13:12-14): walk in the light
  5. Love one another (1 Pet 4:7-9): Do not murmur against each other (Jas 5:9)
  6. Love the Lord (1 Cor 16:22): lest with the increase of wickedness love grows cold (Mt 24:12)
  7. Acknowledge the Lord with boldness (Lk 9:26; 12:9): “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.” (Mt 10:28)
  8. Do not forsake assembling (Heb 10:25): “…as you see the day approaching.”
  9. Be humble (Phil 4:5): “For this world in its present form is passing away.” (1 Cor 7:31)
  10. Hold on to what you have (Rev 3:11; 2:25): guard the truth of the Lord; remain true to the Lord’s name (Rev 2:13); remain upright (Job 2:3); hold on to the good (1 Thess 5:21), as well as true life (1 Tim 6:19)
  11. Do the will of God (Heb 10:36-37): Do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (Eph 5:17)
  12. Wait with patience (Jas 5:7; Rom 8:25): “By standing firm you will gain life.” (Lk 21:19) “He who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Mt 24:13) “

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (Rev 22:20)

When the Lord Jesus comes, will you be ready to meet Him?

Question:What are the spiritual signs of second coming of Jesus Christ?

Posted by tjcsg on May 9, 2011

Our Lord Jesus has warned us of the signs that will precede His second coming. Earlier we have shared on phenomena concerning the church and the world. There are also spiritual phenomena on the second coming of Jesus Christ that we can find in the bible that is evident to Christians today.

The Spiritual signs of second coming of Jesus Christ

Spiritual phenomena 1:

The latter rain of the Holy Spirit: “Be glad, 0 people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.” “…before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.” (Joel 2:23, 31) There was the autumn rain of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Now is the time for spring rain (Zech 10:1). “…for the autumn and spring rains …because the Lord’s coming is near.” (Jas 5:7-8) Seeds were sown during the autumn rain; spring rain is the time for harvest. They are the same rain but fall at different times. “So He who was seated on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.” (Rev 14:16) The sickle refers to the truth, which, coupled with the Holy Spirit – spring rain, does its work. “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor, gather His wheat into the barn and burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Mt 3:12)

Spiritual phenomena 2:

The gospel is widely spread: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Mt 24:14) There are two ways of spreading the gospel: one is for preachers to go about and lead people to the Lord; another is circulation of the Bible and other forms of literary ministry. They are both important. We should ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field (Mt 9:38). The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few – this is a serious problem facing the church. The church should pray to the Lord concerning this problem, and send workers on the way in a manner worthy of God. It is for the sake of the Name that they go out, receiving no help from the pagans. We ought therefore to show hospitality to such men so that we may work together for the truth (3 Jn 6-8). The purpose of preaching the gospel is to give testimony to all people so that they may be saved. So, we must “go” and preach the gospel – the pioneering work can be by literary ministry. Then workers may go out to harvest. For the “eternal gospel” is to be proclaimed to “those who live on the earth — to every nation, tribe, language and people.” (Rev 14:6) This is very arduous work that requires a concerted heart. God wants everyone to be saved. So, He gives all men the opportunity to hear the gospel and read religious books and other printed materials. How can they understand unless we speak and write of the gospel? (Rom 10:14) If we have preached and they have heard, even if not all of them believe, we have fulfilled our duty. God is tolerant, not delaying, because many have not yet heard the gospel or have believed in it. When the testimony has been given to all peoples, the day of the Lord will come like a thief (2 Pet 3:10).

Spiritual phenomena 3:

The bride gets herself ready: “For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.” “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.” (Rev 19:7; 21:2) The bride refers to the true church, bride of the Lamb and the only bride promised to Christ. God adorns her with every good and perfect gift from the Father of the heavenly lights (Jas 1:17). God’s adornment for the church includes power from above – baptism of the Holy Spirit, the washing of rebirth, the Sabbath, Holy Communion, footwashing, miracles, fruits of the Holy Spirit and seal of the Holy Spirit. Only God’s adornment can please the Lord (Song 4:7). The spiritual church does not need worldly adornment (1 Cor 1.16 29; Gal 2:6; Lk 16:15). Perhaps many think that the true church still has many flaws which are, in fact, personnel problems (1 Cor 3:1, 3). However, the bride should also prepare herself so that she can be without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish (Eph 5:27), holy and blameless for her husband.

These are the signs of second coming of Jesus Christ. No one knows the Day or the Hour of His coming.  Are you ready to enter the door of salvation while there is still a chance?
