What are the responsibilities of the church of God?

The church is the congregation of believers in this world.  It is made up of people, God’s people. In the Bible, the church of God is constantly referred to as the following:
1. God’s temple: believers are living stones built into a spiritual house (1 Pet 2:5; 1 Cor 3:4).
2. God’s flock: believers are one flock under one shepherd (Jn 10:16; Zeph 2:6)
3. God’s field: believers are good seeds in the field (1 Cor 3:9; Mt 13:38).
4. True vine: believers are branches of the vine (Jn 15:1; Jer 2:21).
5. The body of Christ: believers are members of the body of Christ (Eph 1:23; 1 Cor 12:27)
6. God’s bride: believers are the cells of the bride (2 Cor 11:2; Rev 21:9).
7. God’s holy temple: believers are royal priests in the temple of God (1 Cor 3:16; Eph 2:20-21).
8. God’s ark: believers are one family of the saved (Heb 11:7; 1 Pet 3:20).
9. God’s kingdom: believers are people belonging to God (1 Pet 2:9; Rev 1:6, 9)
10. God’s city: believers are the radiance of the Holy City (Rev 21:10).

What are the missions of the church of God?

The greatest mission of the church of God is to preach the gospel to all the people under heaven, so that whoever believes in Jesus may be saved (Mk 16:16), and all rule and authority may recognize the wisdom of God through the church, glorifying God (Eph 3:21). So, the church of God has God’s given power to do holy work according to God’s will. The Bible records all the activities of the church:
1. Decision (Acts 15:22)
2. Dispatch (Acts 11:23)
