Can man escape God’s judgment?
“Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” (Heb 9:27)
There is judgment for everyone.
“Judgment”, “judge” and “the judged” are mentioned many times in the Bible – this is a very serious matter. It is the destiny of all men.
“Do you think you will escape God’s judgment?” (Rom 2:3) The most pressing problem we face is how to prevent ourselves from meeting a disastrous judgment after death – to avoid condemnation but receive eternal life (Jn 6:27) and transforming wrath into praise (1 Cor 4:5). This is a great matter of concern.
Why will God judge man? Isn’t God loving?
God is loving. He is also righteous for He does not show favouritism. “God will give to each person according to what he has done.
To those who persistently do good seek glory, honour and immortality – He will give eternal life.
But for those who are self-seeking, reject the truth and follow evil, will face wrath and anger.
There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil but glory, honour and peace for everyone who does good.” (Rom 2:6-10)
Can man hide their faults and escape God’s judgment?
God is omniscient. He never forgets any man’s deeds. He keeps a record of the words and deeds of sinners (Rev 20:12; Dan 7:10) as well as a scroll of remembrance concerning those who feared the Lord and honoured His name (Mal 3:16).
“Men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.” (Mt 12:36) The account will be settled for the sins of everybody. “The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them.
In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.” (1 Tim 5:24-25)
“For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” (Eccl 12:14)
