Question: What are God’s will and promise for mankind for the gift of eternal life?

What are God’s will and promise for mankind for the gift of eternal life?

What is God’s attitude towards mankind?

God loves mankind and he has drawn them with “everlasting love” (Jn 3:16; Jer 31:3).
Unfortunately man is disobedient and forsake God in his ways, which lead to destruction.

Yet God does not want anyone to perish. He wants to grant us the gift of
eternal life.

Out of mercy, he gives man the opportunity to repent and receive the grace of salvation.

Jesus Christ used the analogy of the return of the prodigal son to demonstrate how God treats us graciously with compassion (Lk 15:20; 1 Jn 3:1). “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people” (Rom 10:21).

God’s will and promise for mankind: The gift of eternal life

He predestined us to be his children (Eph 1:5; Jn 1:12-13).
He promises us the gift of eternal life (1 Jn 2:25) which he promised before the beginning of time (Tit 1:2).
We become heirs having the hope of eternal life (Tit 3:7), co-heirs with Christ (Rom 8:17) and to receive an eternal inheritance kept by God for us in heaven (1 Pet 1:3-4).

God has promised us the gift of eternal life. Are we willing to turn back to God?
